Have you considered using email receipts with your point of sale and inventory control systems?
Many retailers use the same receipt design for years, never making any changes. You may be missing out on an opportunity to communicate future events or promotions with your customer.
If you think your receipts are pocketed and forgotten by customers, you might consider redesigning your receipt or using email receipts instead. The receipt is another chance to directly connect with a customer, encouraging them to return to your store.
Most pos systems allow you to modify at least a portion of the receipt design through the interface. Likewise, most systems have email receipt features available.
You might consider using your sales receipts to:
- List a coupon code on the receipt and encourage them to return to your store on or by a specific date to take advantage of the discount or promotion.
- Mention an upcoming sale or event at your store.
- Request feedback on your products or services in exchange for a future discount.
- Or mention your social media pages and promote more personal engagement with your customer.
